We will walk most of the sections between Southampton and Rye. It is not yet decided whether we will start at Southampton or Portsmouth. These will nearly all be walked on Fridays and led by Roger.

| 08/12/2023 | ECPA1: Shoreham to Brighton (Winter by the Sea) | Travel: East Croydon Station at 09:40 for the 09:49 Thameslink to Brighton Our walk starts from Brighton Station at 10:40 for a short walk to the 700 bus to Shoreham Port and finishes at Brighton Station. This is the first stage of the first tranche (A) of coastal walks in Southern England accessible from Sutton by public transport. Lunch is picnic on the seafront or the Regency Restaurant on Regency Square, Brighton near the end of the walk. Buy a Thameslink only return to Brighton. |
| 12/01/2024 | ECPA2: Brighton to Greenwich Meridian | Travel: East Croydon Station at 09:40 for the 09:49 Thameslink to Brighton Our walk starts from Brighton Station at 10:40 and finishes at Roderick Avenue Bus Stop, Peacehaven. A short walk past The Clocktower, through the Lanes to the Palace Pier. Toilet stop, then past The Marina and undercliff to Saltdean via Rottingdean. Ascend to Telscombe Cliffs for lunch at The Smugglers Rest, or picnic on or overlooking the beach (steep descent). Further along the front to the Monument and Roderick Avenue for the 12X bus stop right back to Brighton Station. |
| 09/02/2024 | ECPA3: Greenwich Meridian to Bishopstone | Travel: East Croydon Station at 10:00 for 10:10 Eastbourne, change at Lewes for Seaford Our walk starts from Newhaven Town Station at 11:15 for 12 bus to Brighton, alight Roderick Ave Stop, Peacehaven and finishes at Bishopstone Station. Buy two advance singles for as little as £3.95 each (advise at least two weeks early) or book a share in a Daysave ticket (groups of 4, first come first served) for £11.75 each. Walk to monument on cliff path then along for 3.75 miles over Castle Hill and past Newhaven Fort to the West Quay and The Ark for lunch/picnic. Afterwards cross River Ouse and back to the coast and the long shingle beach path. |

Travel: East Croydon Station at 09:55 for the 10:10 Southern train to Ore. Quick change at Lewes for the 11:00 Seaford train Our walk starts from Bishopstone Station at 11:15. Along the seafront with a brief diversion to the pub in Seaford, then over Seaford Head to Exceat, passing the Cuckmere Inn. Then cross the Ouse by the road bridge to the café and Seven Sisters Visitor Centre. |

Travel: East Croydon Station at 09:55 for the 10:10 Eastbourne train, arrive 11:17, then 12/12A/12X bus to Seven Sisters Country Park Our walk starts from Seven Sisters Country Park at 11:42 and finishes at Eastbourne Station. Toilets at start, then towards the sea and over the Seven Sisters for quick coffee at Birling Gap, then continue along cliffs to The Beachy Head Inn for late lunch. Down to Holywell, then along the seafront. A final half mile to the station! |

Travel: East Croydon Station at 10:10 for the 10:23 train to Chichester arrives 11:37 Our walk starts from Chichester Bus Station at 11:40 for the 52/53 bus to West Wittering and finishes at Bracklesham. The start at West Wittering for tranche B (seven stages to Shoreham) of our coastal walk. Toilets near bus stop then mostly sandy beach walk to end (picnic only). Billy's café near 52/53 stop at end back to station (departures at xx:09 and xx:39). |

Travel: East Croydon Station at 10:10 for the 10:23 train to Chichester, arrives 11:37 Our walk starts from Chichester Bus Station at 11:40 for the 52/53 bus to Bracklesham Beach and finishes at West Sands Bus Stop, Selsey. Toilet & café at start then quiet road and shingle beach to Medmerry Nature Reserve which we circumambulate to the spectacular viewpoint at the end of West Beach, Selsey. Possible café at beach resort. |

Travel: East Croydon Station at 10:10 for the 10:23 train to Chichester, arrives 11:37 Our walk starts from Chichester Bus Station at 11:40 for the 51 bus to West Sands, Selsey and finishes at Pagham Harbour Nature Reserve Bus Stop. Roads and shingle beach round Selsey Bill for lunch at The Lifeboat Inn, then along isolated coast by a church to the nature reserve (visitor centre and drinks). |

Travel: East Croydon Station at 09:55 for the 10:23 train to Chichester, arrives 11:37 Our walk starts from Chichester Bus Station at 11:40 for the 51 bus to Pagham Bay Nature Reserve and finishes at Bognor Regis Station. Toilets at visitor centre, then round the harbour past Sidlesham Quay (picnic), lunch at The Crab and Lobster, then back to the Harbour and the coast. Possible ice cream stop at Pagham Beach (dropoff on 600 bus to Bognor), continue past Bognor Pier to Bognor Regis Station. |

Travel: Sutton Station at 10:05 for the 10:13 to Horsham, quick change for the 11:05 to Bognor Our walk starts from Bognor Regis Rail Station at 11:46 and finishes at Littlehampton Station. Buy a return to Bognor (£11 via Leatherhead/Dorking) and a single from Littlehampton to Ford. Promenade then shingle past Climping Beach and on to West Beach, Littlehampton. Back along the estuary to cross it and reach the station. Pub not guaranteed so bring a picnic. |

Travel: East Croydon Station at 09:55 for the 10:04 train to Littlehampton Our walk starts from Littlehampton Station at 11:31 and finishes at Worthing Station. Out past the fun palaces to the East Beach then along the coast (pub tba). Walk finishes at Worthing Pier then 0.5 mile to the station. |

Travel: East Croydon Station at 09:55 for the 10:04 train to Worthing arrive 11:10 Our walk starts from Worthing Station at 11:10 and finishes at Shoreham by Sea Station. From Worthing Pier, east to the pub on the beach at Lancing, then promenade and shingle to Shoreham Beach (possible drop-off for short walk to the footbridge into Shoreham). Main walk continues round the peninsula to Shoreham Fort. |

Travel: East Croydon Station at 10:00 for the 10:10 Ore train to Normans Bay Our walk starts from Normans Bay Station at 11:37 and finishes at Bexhill Station. Roger's Birthday Walk! A flat walk with rolled shingle (some sand at low tide) until the prom at Bexhill. Lunch at the Cooden Beach Hotel after 2.5 miles, tea in the De La Warr Pavilion, then an ice cream stop on the way to the station! |

Travel: East Croydon Station at 10:00 for the 10:10 Ore train to Hastings Our walk starts from Hastings Station at 11:58 and finishes at Canal Bank Bus Stop, Cliff End. Refreshment stops tba. Return to Hastings on xx:11 101 bus. This tough but magnificent walk will be led by Trevor. |

Travel: East Croydon Station at 10:30 for the 10:40 train to Eastbourne, change Hampden Park for the Rye train, then the 101 bus to Cliff End (lunch) Our walk starts from Canal Bank Bus Stop, Cliff End at 13:20 and finishes in Rye area. Note this walk starts very late and finishes very late! Further announcements later in the updates. |
