Chalkwell Station to Benfleet Station on Friday 08/11/2019
This walk led by Chris C was very enjoyable with good weather in the morning and excellent views. We visited the pictureque Hadleigh Castle (bought by Richard Rich in 1551 and dismantled for the value of its stone in two following decades). There are some pictures of the castle remains below. A good lunch (good value also) was had at the Castle Inn at Hadleigh. There was a little light rain in the afternoon.
